Quick, Easy Decorative Stands...And Gift Bags

My husband is currently deployed overseas, so that means lots of goodie boxes get sent his way at least once a month.  To make this easier for me, I order all my flat rate boxes and customs forms online and the post office delivers them with my mail for no charge.  Waaaaaay back when (last Aug to be precise), I accidentally ordered the medium boxes, when I meant to order the large.  Might as well go with the large since they take two bucks off if shipping to an APO address!!!  So, I've been storing these boxes for over a year now.  I've seen many people use them to make magazine holders and organizers, but I can't cut an even, pretty line to save my life, so I made a stand instead.  You know how you always need to elevate things on a food table or in a display?  This is what I'll use on my Halloween food table this year:
Supplies: scrapbook paper, box, Modge Podge and sponge brush.  Not shown: ribbon and hot glue gun.

Yes, I keep my used brush in a baggie and keep using over and over and over and..you get the idea.
I cut the paper into strips and started gluing!

This project was finished in about 30 minutes, start to finish...seriously!

Used in a display....

Holding the gift bags!

The gift bags were super easy to make, a white lunch bag, cupcake liners, some chipboard stickers and ribbon.  I had everything on hand, actually all supplies were left over from other projects, so I'm going to say they were basically free.

Both projects were so easy, fun and cute!  I may make two more boxes...or attack the shoe boxes I've been keeping for awhile....love fast crafts!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!
