24 Hours, But Who's Counting?

Time is flying by so fast! That's a good thing this time! I haven't been a total slacker....I was working on party kits for my etsy shop {www.libbysixproductions.etsy.com} and doing as much as possible with my neice before she went home to Kansas {BTW, Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU! Next stop: FINAL FOUR!!!}. Anyway, this is my Nautical Party Kit:
The chevron banner was left blank so I can personalize it for any occassion.  I also made a Monster Robot Birthday Party Kit.  Love the colors and the fun robots!

You can't really see the cupcake toppers that well, but I assure you, they are adorable!  Another reason why I'm loving time flying???  My hubby lands in Tampa in 25 hours!!!  I'm cleaning like a mad woman and sick as hell to my stomach, but I'm excited!  My friends think it's cute that I still get the funny tummy when my man is returning, but really {and honestly} it's annoying!  I get so nervous!  I understand it's a good thing and should probably be worried if that ever goes away, but damn!  :)  I'm so giddy it should be illegal......I can't wait to look into these eyes!

{Kind of a dorky picture, but when he was home for two weeks in December, I tricked him into taking the girls to their hair appointments.  Yeah, he was one bored Daddio, but you know what?  That's what happens, payback for being alone for 18 months is a bitch :)}

Have an awesome week, weekend, maybe month....just kidding, the honeymoon phase will be over soon and I'll be back!

It's Been A Year!

I can't believe that it was one year ago today when I started my little blog! Surprisingly, and thankfully, this year has flown by...why am I so happy about time going so fast? I'm ready for my husband to be home! He has been deployed now for 18 months {seriously *sigh*}. The blog has given me something to focus on and kept me busy, but my hubby will be home in a week and I'm so stoked!!! I will definitely need to be more organized and have better time management......it is going to be quite the adjustment when he returns. Honestly, I really haven't cooked a meal, like a sit down dinner, since August when we moved my middle daughter, Haley, to college. Hagan, my son, only eats a few different things, so he never eats what I make for myself and Hana, my daughter, so I think I may have forgotten how to cook a real meal! I'm so ready to have my have bestest friend, partner in crime, tag team member home!!!  This says it all......

Yup, I kinda love the dude!  He's pretty awesome, no, he's really awesome!  Ok, I'm finished being sappy {but can you tell that I'm excited??}.  THANK YOU to all my followers!!!

An Ombre Cake

Okay, so everyone knows I am not a baker. Not even a froster really. I can screw up the whole process pretty bad. Check out this picture!  Horrible, right?! Well, I'm in love with the whole ombre trend right now, actually, I wish I had long flowing loose curls so that I could color the ends lighter, but my hair is so short right now it would probably look like I just needed a new dye job. Anyway, I attempted to make an ombre cake today. Of course, I used box mixes! Duh. Box mixes and food coloring....
Strawberry

Vanilla

Ta-da!!! I promise I saw a cake like this.....well, it was done better, but I mean without fondant or icing covering the whole cake.

It's a little crooked and there isn't much variation between the bottom two layers AND I didn't trim as well as I should have....But damn, it tastes GOOD!

Have you ever tried something you saw on Pinterest and it didn't quite turn out how you envisioned it??  Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Cowboy Baby

I forgot to post yesterday!!!!! I was busy working on a new party kit for my etsy shop and completely forgot! Boo to me! Anyway, I'll give you a sneak peek and hopefully I will finish it today and have it in my etsy shop tonight!
I'm loving my Silhouette Cameo!  Fun shapes like the silhouettes are so cute and easy!

I'm excited about finishing the banners and I hope they turn out how I imagine them in my head....but we all know how that goes sometimes!
My little man has been dressing himself all week for school.  Today is a good day :)  Yesterday it was red plaid shorts with a bright orange shirt...yea, didn't really match.  Do you let your little ones dress themselves even if you're going in public with them?  I love that he wants to express himself and if that means wearing a power ranger costume or a completely non-matching outfit, I'm okay with that!

Have an awesome weekend!

T-Shirt Scarves

Whew! It's Wednesday and if I was feeling blah yesterday, today was not better :/ I woke up with back spasms which is no bueno. The doctor thinks I have a herniated disk and right now the flair ups will be controlled with drugs, drugs and more drugs. I have been having these "flair ups" a few times a year since 2007, but for some reason this year, they are a lot worse. So, excuse me if I have misspelled words or don't make any sense...the pain meds are kicking in!

Back in January, my friend, Sarah B. and I planned a craft party. Actually, Sarah B. did everything and I just offered my house :) She found a cool t-shirt scarf on Pinterest {I wish I could post the instructions and source, but I never pinned it and I can't find it on Sarah B.'s}. Everyone just brought old t-shirts and we followed Sarah B.'s instructions {Some people did better than others haha} and yes, it was BYOB so that may have led to some confusion. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and we had another craft party last month and made framed chalkboards. This month, we are doing cake stands and mouse pads. It's so fun! I encourage everyone to have craft parties! Even if you have friends who claim not to have a crafty bone in their body, pick the right craft and everyone goes home feeling like a Craft Star! Here is our group with our finished scraves.....

Wendy, Me, Melissa and Rhiann.  No, Wendy is not my sister, not even a cousin, actually not related at all, but the hair used to confuse people when we worked together!

Wendy and my boy, Hagan.  I had to include this pic because when I was installing Linky Followers I had to choose a profile picture and I chose this one because I thought it was ME!!!  I couldn't tell until it was installed and I have not been able to change it myself.  I actually emailed the guy of Linky Followers and asked him to remove the picture, but now I can't upload a new one, so I look like a little orange guy :/
This craft was FREE!  Everyone has old t-shirts and if you're a scarf lover like me, try this scarf!  Cute and easy!  Talk to you tomorrow ;)

Shabby, Yet Sweet, Garland

I vowed on my Sunday night post, that I was committed to blogging everyday this week, so I will, but today it is hard for me.  A very strange day for me and I just feel blah (and a little sad).  So I don't have much to say, but I wanted to share with you something I made yesterday.

A pretty little tassel garland with lovely, precious material from JoAnn's.

I would love to find coordinating scrapbook paper to make an adorable baby girl shower kit.

This is how Hagan, my four year old son, thinks we should decorate......

Anyone else think rubber lizards are coming into style as home decor these days??

It's Gonna Be A Bright Sunshiny Day!

Heeeeeeaaaaaaayyyyyy! Wow, I feel like I got a lot accomplished today! Doesn't it feel good when you can breathe again?? The house was suffocating me, but now it's nice and clean and the truck is unpacked and everything put away. By put away, I mean stacked around my craft room, but still out of my site! Now onto something fun!!! Yay! I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head, so I hope to show you something new later this week, but for now, I'm sharing an old sign I made a few weeks ago? Was it really that long ago? Maybe not, time is flying by......anyway, this sign makes me happy and smile when I see it :)

I made it out of pallet wood.  For me, if I'm reusing boards, the more character it has, the better!  I love that it splintered when I took hammer to it and has great rusty nail holes and knots.  An old board with an inspiring, catchy tune.  Gotta love it, right??
See you tomorrow homies!

It's Been WAY Too Long

I have fallen off the blogging scene...I feel bad about it.  It's one thing that I love doing and I've missed it.  I haven't stopped crafting....actually, I was preparing for my FIRST craft booth at our local farmer's market.  Oh, how did it go?  It didn't.  Organized, priced, set up a mock booth, loaded the truck and then...well, the weather didn't cooperate.  Bummer.  Good news though, everthing will be ready for next month for my FIRST craft booth!

My niece and I were bummed about the cancelled market, so we spent the day at Busch Gardens before facing the inevitable house cleaning and truck unloading that will HAVE to be done Monday morning. It looks like a craft tornado came through my house and threw up ribbon, material and paper EVERYWHERE!

Hagan and I in the Kangaroo Walkabout.  He really enjoyed feeding them!

This pic to show off his fancy bow tie....yeah, yeah, yeah, my silly boy wouldn't let me put the bow tie in the right place {he may have been scared to let me near his head area since I may have gotten hot glue in this hair the other day *don't ask :)*}

I'm committed to posting everyday this week!  I've missed YOU!
