SIGNS, SIGNS, EVERYWHERE THERE'S SIGNS....

OMG!  I have had a loooooong two days.  I really can't believe that it is only Wednesday.  I'm achey, tired, and fuzzy-headed...not my hair, my brain.  Well, my hair is too but I give up on it completely when it gets above 80 degrees and humid.  Anyway, spent the day with the beast (a.k.a. dog, a.k.a. Bosco) inside because of storms yesterday and now I can't breathe.  Apparently, my family believes my allergies from the dog all are in my head, I can concede that I'm most likely NOT allergic to Bosco, but damn if I'm not allergic to whatever it is he is rolling around in out there!!  Normally, he is an outdoor dog due to his very large size and my hatred of dog hair on everything, but the 110 pound wussy is scared of thunder, so he gets to come inside.  Otherwise, he will knock down the fence and escape to the front porch (which makes no sense whatsoever).  Here's a pic of the pathetic beast:
See?  Told you pathetic!  Just kidding dog lovers!  He's a great dog, just brings in the yuckies.

My goal this week was too get as many signs and picture holders finished as I could before the community yard sale on Saturday.  Two of my friends and I are holding a multi-family sale at Sarah B.'s house.  Sarah B. and I are going to have a table with just our crafts items.  We want to get a feel of what is going to sell and what we shouldn't really waste our time on.  OH!!!  AND Sarah B. bought a Silhouette!  I'm green with envy and can't wait to see what it can do!  (I think I hear angels singing whenever I say "Silhouette.")  So, my materials were pine boards from my Ikea stash, various opaints I already have, twine and some ribbons.  Oh, and stencils....because I have no Silhouette f my own, boo hoo.  Who's pathetic now?

Most of the signs say, "Beach" and a couple of them say, "If you do not like where you are, then change it.  You are not a tree."  I found that awesome saying on Redefining C.  Carri put this saying in a frame, it looks fabulous, right?  Visit her blog to see how she did it!!  I love it!
I thought I would try to put it on a sign because I fell in love with it instantly.  It's so true!!!!  So, I only used one color on the boards and didn't really coat the entire boards because I knew I was going to be sanding it up anyway.  I kind of had an assembly line going on....

I used the trace and scribble transfer method on these two signs.  That's what it's called, right?  The trace and scribble?  Once everything was painted and dried, I took them outside for a good sanding.

I free-handed the trees.  Don't laugh at them.  Okay, you can, my feelings won't be hurt, promise.  After sanding until my arm practically fell off (and putting some of Hagan's energy to work), I added the final touches.  All the pine boards have holes drilled in them and I decided to use them to add some interest.  Here they are!

Nice legs, huh?  I have a confession....my son is a camera hog...and he was super proud that his free balloon from Publix made it into the shot.  Now he'll ALWAYS get to remember his free green balloon...especially since his Spinosaurus popped it with his lethal spine.  Rest in pieces....I mean, peace, free green balloon.

Here the little man is chillin' and relaxin' and actin' all cool  (name that song for $1000...just kidding, I won't pay you)
Why, yes, that is Lil Wayne on the cover of Interview magazine....my boy's hardcore, you know.  Hah!  BUT, my Haley is hardcore...talented that is...here is her finished Day of the Dead skeleton figurine she was working on the other day :

Okay, this an obnoxiously long post and I think I'm rambling due to lack of sleep and fuzzy-brain syndrome, so I just want to ask one more thing....What is the going rate for handmade signs???  I'm thinking maybe $8 for the beach ones?  I would really like some suggestions.....anyone?  Anyone?
